OSHO: WHAT IS IT?

The Oromo Self-Help Organization (OSHO) is a non- profit, non-political and non-religious humanitarian organization founded in 1991 with the aim of contributing to relief, rehabilitation and development efforts in the Oromiya Region.

Since its establishment OSHO had been engaged in the implementation of relief, rehabilitation and development activities in different zones of Oromiya. In the process the organization has improved its capacity and smoothly shifted from implementation of only relief and single sectoral development projects to multi-sectoral / integrated development programmes that focus on food insecure woredas of Oromia.

 
 

Registration


OSHO had been given a Certificate of Registration/ License Number 389 by the Ministry of Justice and has Operational Agreement with DPPC and ODPPC.

OSHO is a full member of Christian Relief and Development Association (CRDA) and Pastoralist Forum Ethiopia (PFE). It also actively participates in various development task forces at national and regional levels.

THE FIVE YEARS STRATEGIC PLAN (2003-2007)

OSHO’s capacity building need assessment had been conducted by the CRDA. Based on the results of the capacity building need assessment OSHO prepared a 5 years strategic plan (2003-2007) with the fund obtained from the same. All stakeholders participated to prepare this document. This document gave a direction towards OSHO should move in the coming 5 years.
